As if I am going to live.... Lots of people don't know what to say to me. That's okay. I remember being at a loss for words, wondering what to say to someone who has cancer. It's easier to know from this side, from inside the body that is fighting. Can I help you?

Temperature Control

I AM AN ETERNAL SPIRIT --- wrapped in a pretty defective package, the effect of living in a fallen world.

To achieve "comfort," I need ice packs on 4 parts of my body, and a hot water bottle in a 5th place.
If that's not funny, I don't know what is. It makes me laugh & laugh! The endorphins are rising at the rate of a long-distance runner -- and I'm just propped up on the couch!

HERE'S THE REALITY --
This packaging -- my earthly body -- is SO temporary. The same us true of cancer -- a temporary condition in the Universe.

My spirit, which cannot be damaged, or evaporated, is ETERNAL.

PRAISE GOD!!

PS. everything that I learn, and every way that my heart is changed by this experience -- is MINE to KEEP. HaHaHaHaHaHa. The Lord and I will have the last laugh!

    your words a a real encouragement which seems upside down as I wanted to encourage you. You are AMAZING!! The words you've written are full of such love and grace. I want to go and love my husband now and not be angry with him anymore...

    I just love you Melanie, you're just so wonderful and have a great and wise husband too and it's an absolute pleasure to have known you for so many years of my life! Can't wait to see you both and stay with you in YOUR home for the first time!! How about that?? Anyway, the long and short of it is: I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you and so does my whole family and then multiply that by eternity and we are still so far off how much Jesus, the Holy Spirit and your Father in heaven care for you, love you, like you and approve of your whole life.

    Melanie... You are constantly on our hearts and we pray for you often!! You have given me such a revelation of staring fear in the face and know that God has it all under control. You are so full of Hope and Faith, what an Inspiration!! A few of my Favorite verses about Hope are:
    Psalm 31:24: Be strong and take heart, all you who hope in the LORD.

    Psalm 42:5: 5 Why are you down in the dumps, dear soul? Why are you crying the blues? Fix my eyes on God— soon I'll be praising again.
    He puts a smile on my face. He's my God (this one is a good one I like to speak over my heart when it forgets to trust and hope)

    Romans 5:5: And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us.

    Romans 15:13 May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

    1 Thessalonians 1:2-4 We always thank God for all of you, mentioning you in our prayers. We continually remember before our God and Father your work produced by faith, your labor prompted by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in
    our Lord Jesus Christ. For we know, brothers/sisters loved by God, that he has chosen you...

    Just to name a few!! You are living in His Glory and exuding it to the world!! Thank You!!
